Since I am missing our daughters so much today, I thought I would call this twin day. Although our girls are 3 years apart in age, I think they share a secret heart with each other. That makes them twins for me, when they finish the others sentences. The items today are two of the same. There are two sets of fraternal and one set of identical twins; and then a set of three items that just go together. My pile is starting to show a little progress in the living room, and my 4gb card is full of pictures already; so I really hope you enjoy the items I am posting today. Mention the number associated with the item when you contact me, please.
H091 and H092 are twin Magnolia 8.5 inch tassel vases. They are identical with the exception of the tint. One is just a tad darker than the other. I have listed these two separately if you preferred one color over the other. Both are in excellent condition, however, H092 (the lighter one) does have a pink paint mark from manufacturing on the handle. (See photo below) The Hull Magnolia tassel vase is marked with an incised 7-8 1/2"can be found on Page 120, Plate 78, Row 1, Item 3. It was valued at $155 -$200 in the Hull Pottery Encyclopedia, cc 2003. All prices are negotiable with us, and we are also willing to rent these for a special occasion if you prefer.
This mold has a couple of imperfections on the inside of the vase. Both of these pieces have these little air bubbles inside on the bottom. |
H093 is a set of tangerine and dark green vases made by Hull in 1952, called Medley. This set used the Woodland mold, and comes without markings on the base.. Hull was known for doing several Plate 163, Row 4, Item 2. It was valued at $50- $75 each in 2003. Our prices are always negotiable, whether you want one or both.. Mention H093 if you are interested in this item. Sorry about the dust in them.. I will be happy to rephoto these for you..
H094 is a set of two green planters produced by Hull. The larger piece is marked hull U(S)A F78 and what looks like a blocked out F72 on the smaller piece. The incised trademark features a lower case hull with a weird S was used on both the House n Garden casual serving ware as well as the Imperial florist ware line beginning in 1960. Since I could not find much information from the Hull Pottery Encyclopedia, 2003; I turned to The Hull Pottery Price Guide at http://realpriceguides.com/hull/imperial2.asp. I copied this description for the Imperial line:
"Imperial has been produced since the 1960's with an extensive line of pieces making it hard to catalog. I have attempted to follow the F series Imperial here and leaving other pieces in the novelty and misc catalogs. (If the piece is numbered with an F or a B or an A before the number then it should be tagged as an Imperial piece. This is not saying all pieces will be marked with the letter before the number.)Another thing to look at with Imperial pieces is the changing of numbers on pieces not renewed for the next year. Example would be F25 which shows up on more than one pattern from one year to the next. Always keep in mind even if you have a piece of Hull Imperial the value in most cases will not be much above ten to twenty dollars for the piece if that much." They gave a current suggested value of $5-$9 for each piece. We are always negotiable on price. |
As always, I search for imperfections and document them, no matter how small. The larger piece has a couple of "pimples" on the bottom of the front and under the rim on the back. Mention H094.1750 if you are interested in either or both of these Imperial planters.
It has taken longer than I anticipated to post the photos that I took today. Here is a preview of what you can expect for tomorrow.. these are not really twins anyway. So until tomorrow..... peace.
